Introduction & Information
in the greater South Shore / Metro Boston area
Hello and Welcome to the Massachusetts Humane Society Cat Sanctuary website. My name is Joanne G. Mainiero, President of Massachusetts Humane Society, Inc., located in East Weymouth MA -- (website: http://www.masshumane.org).
What your about to read is a desperate "hand/paw" reaching out to you! MHSCS has a
vision, mission and goal -- to create a Cat Sanctuary right here in the greater South Shore / Metro Boston, Massachusetts area.
The Cat Sanctuary would have the potential to house 100 or MORE (felines) cats that could live out their lives with love, care, peace and comfort, with even more future potential for these felines to be ADOPTED. MHSCS
would have ADOPTION DAYS, open to the public, in giving these felines a chance for a home life while they are at the Massachusetts Humane Society Cat Sanctuary. There will be a "Sponsor a Cat" program at the MHSCS,
where you may sponsor a cat (or two) while they are living at the Cat Sanctuary. You sponsor the cat to your desire, such as helping with special needs, special dietary needs, medical care, Senior Wellness, etc.
The cats that come to the MHSCS will have 100% Veterinary care, with up-to-date shots and also be spay & neutered as needed. MHSCS would assist a percentage of local animal shelters in MA. that are overwhelmed with felines, and or
are kill shelters where the cats have limited days to live. We would also assist a percentage of people that need to surrender their cats due to personal reasons. A percentage of stray older cats that are homeless and living outside would be considered for residency at the MHSCS. A possible addition to the MHSCS would be a Feral Cat area.
Thank you for caring and your support!

He had very bad inflammatory bowel problems and very bad arthritis throughout his body.
Jasper became very ill and we hope now he has gone to a better place !!
Jasper was another SENIOR VICTIM CAT that was NOT WANTED ANY LONGER - he was about 15 years of age when he came to the Shelter.
We will all miss Jasper - MHS Volunteers took good care of him, he loved to look out the window and eat his wet food and treats.
He loved high places in his favorite cat beds, so he could watch everything that was going on -- He did not want to miss a trick !!
We can't understand WHY these poor senior cats are discarded and end up at Shelters.
THE SENIOR CATS deserve to live out their golden years -- in comfort and peace and harmony -- not in a Shelter.
"WE LOVE YOU JASPER" from all of the MHS Staff!
July 26, 2010 - "JASPER -- GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN"
